2023-24 School Year Enrollment: 316 kindergarten students welcomed in Dinwiddie County schools

There were 316 kindergarten students enrolled in Dinwiddie County schools in the 2023-24 school year, 7.1% more than the previous year, according to the Virginia Department of Education.

The school that enrolled the largest number of kindergarten students in the county was Sutherland Elementary School.

Within Dinwiddie County schools, the largest number of students were found in 10th-grade, while pre-kindergarten had the least students.

Statewide, Dinwiddie County ranked 58th in enrollment numbers. It was also ranked 58th the year before.

As of November 2023, according to Public Schools Review, Virginia public schools saw an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:14, which is better than the national average of 1:15 in public schools nationwide.
