There were 301 Black students enrolled in Surry County Public Schools District in the 2023-24 school year, 5% less than the previous year, according to the Virginia Department of Education.

Data showed that Surry County Public Schools District welcomed 694 students during the 2023-24 school year. Among them, Black students comprised 43.4% of the student body to be the second most represented ethnicity in the school.

Surry County Public Schools District roughly covers schools within Surry County and has a main office in Surry.

Among the three schools in Surry County Public Schools District, Surry Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of Black students in the 2023-24 school year.
