On October 16, 2022, at approximately 7:01 p.m., the Prince George County Police Department responded to a single-vehicle crash in the 10300 block of Prince George Drive. Officers determined that a Jeep Liberty, a four-door SUV, was traveling northbound on Prince George Drive. The preliminary investigation revealed that the operator of the vehicle veered off the right side of the road, overcorrected, and traveled across the opposite side of the roadway, striking a tree.
The operator of the Jeep, Deanna Elliott, age 23, of Hopewell, suffered fatal injuries in the crash; she was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt.
