Men's Cross Country Looks Forward to Final Tune Up in Panther Invitational

 The Virginia State University (VSU) Men's Cross Country team will compete in their last meet of their regular season on Friday, October 14. The Trojans will be competing in Virginia Union Panther Invitational at Bryan Park in Richmond, Virginia and the meet will begin at 4pm. The women will start first 4:00 p.m., followed by the men starting at approximately 5:00 p.m.

The men are heading into this meet  looking to redeem themselves after finishing behind Virginia Union and Bluefield State in the VSU Trojan Cross Country Invitational on Friday, September 23. The men placed 3rd overall and scored 54 points, with an average time of 31:30.

JaPrince Gaines earned a first place finish with his personal best time of 27:40.9. This is Gaines third meet in a row in which he has finished in first place. Gabriel Miles was the second Trojan to cross the finish line. Miles ran a 29:30.1, placing him in seventh. Following behind him was Jalen Brownlee, who placed eighth, running a time of 29:33.9. Dacarai Clark finished in 21st, posting a time of 34:45.0. Kavonte Dawson ran a new personal best with a time of 32:09.2, with a finish of 26th.
