Comprehensive Plan Update

16

Town of McKenney issued the following announcement on Sept. 29

Comprehensive Land Use Plan Update 2021

Dinwiddie County is revising and updating its Comprehensive Plan!

The Comprehensive Plan is a community-driven document that sets a clear vision for the forward motion of the County over the next 10 to 20 years.

The Comprehensive Plan addresses topics such as land use, development, natural environment, transportation, and resource utilization in the unincorporated areas of Dinwiddie County.  The policies defined in the plan will guide the County's future direction and priorities for growth, services, and land use regulation.

About the Process

Updating the Comprehensive Plan will be a collaborative effort between Dinwiddie County's Board of Supervisors, Planning Commission, citizens, businesses, and other stakeholders.  The current Comprehensive Plan will be evaluated, community information will be updated, and new priorities, goals, and strategies will be established based on input from community members.  The Comprehensive Plan relies on public input, so we encourage the citizens of Dinwiddie County to be an active part of this process by participating in Community Engagement Sessions, surveys, and an open house.

The Process Includes

* Administrative Work Session with Public Officials - October 5, 2021

* Public Survey - Fall 2021

* Community Engagement Sessions - Fall 2021

* Bi-Monthly Meetings of the Planning Commission

* Public Open House - Fall 2022

* Formal Public Hearings and Adoption - Winter 2023
