The United States Track and Field/Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced their NCAA Division II All-Academic Individual and Team honors with the Virginia State University Women’s Track and Field team designated as an All-Academic Team for the 2021-2022 Track and Field season.

In order to earn All-Academic status, the cumulative GPA (not 2021-22 academic year, not semester) for all student-athletes on the institution’s NCAA Squad List for Indoor and/or Outdoor Track and Field must be 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

The women’s track team was one of 149 Division II programs to earn All-Academic status and one of just two institutions from the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) to earn All-Academic Team status.  As a team, the Trojans posted a 3.092 cumulate team grade point average.

This year’s honor marks just the first time the women’s track and field team has earned USTFCCCA all-Academic Team accolades under the leadership of Head Coach Wilbert Johnson.
