RESPONSIBILITIES:  Brightpoint Community College is seeking a creative, dynamic, high energy addition to the Student Engagement Team. The successful candidate will create and maintain effective long-term relationships with local businesses and community organizations to generate opportunities for adult and underserved students to achieve their educational goals at Brightpoint Community College and the Community College Workforce Alliance. This position will collaborate with college leadership (Brightpoint & CCWA) in the execution of college recruiting strategies, which include connecting CCWA completers to Brightpoint’s credit programs. The successful candidate will manage college recruiting events on- and off-campus, including local job fairs, business events, and community events. They will communicate with prospective students, human resources departments, business partners, and community members through text, telephone, email, presentations, Zoom, and other methods. The successful candidate will use data to assess recruitment program effectiveness. They will assist students with college onboarding processes including the FAFSA application, third-party billing, admissions steps, and scholarships. The successful candidate will ensure prospective students are successfully transitioned to a New Student Navigator, who will then work with the student from application to the student’s first day of class.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: QUALIFICATIONS:  A successful candidate must have excellent writing, communication, time management, and organization skills. They must have the ability to inspire future Brightpoint students in their career and educational goals. The successful candidate will work at both of the Brightpoint’s campuses and travel within the entire Brightpoint Community College service region and the greater Richmond area. They will need to work a flexible schedule that includes some evenings during high-peak seasons. They must be able to demonstrate the aptitude to use technology to track student progression, support proactive student communication, and present information to students virtually and face-to-face. The successful candidate will be able to cultivate relationships and adapt recruiting strategies with diverse audiences which include business leaders, HR directors, community members, and adult and nontraditional students. Successful completion and passing of a criminal background check will be required. High school diploma or equivalent is required. Preferred: Prior experience working in educational recruiting, business development, sales, or event planning. Prior experience with business relationships and presentations. Experience in planning, organizing, and marketing in projects/events.  Experience in using a database management system for the purpose of recruiting practices. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent is highly preferred.

*All full-time classified employees new to the Commonwealth of Virginia will serve a 12-month probationary period.
