Bon Secours St. Francis Medical Center issued the following announcement on Jan. 26
Have you ever been having a really tough day, and an unexpected moment of kindness suddenly lifted your spirits?
Kindness and patience are wonderful gifts that we can give to others. They don’t cost a thing, and they can mean so much to us when we’re feeling fatigued, worried or even irritable.
Health care professionals have been on the frontlines of the pandemic for two years now. Our communities have made great strides in preventing and treating severe illness from COVID-19 – but it’s not over quite yet. All of us are still experiencing challenges at work or at home related to COVID-19.
Whether you’re a parent, nurse, teacher, delivery driver, retiree, emergency worker, retail worker, etc., we’re each doing the best we can under difficult circumstances. And in time, we’ll move past these difficulties.
Right now, during what has been the most exhausting part of the pandemic for our health care workers, please consider giving them the gifts of patience and kindness. It will mean so much to them.
Not only that, helping someone else feels good! And even a small act of kindness can have ripple effects that help make the world a happier place for all of us.
