County of Prince George issued the following announcement on Jan. 21
On January 20, 2022, the Prince George County Police Department arrested Maurice Taylor Jr. of Portsmouth in connection with a homicide that occurred on January 1, 2022. This crime took place at an outdoor bonfire in the 8600 block of Ellis Road located in Prince George County. Taylor, age 20, was taken into custody without incident and has been charged with second-degree murder in the shooting death of Devon Clanton of Dinwiddie County, he is currently being held at Portsmouth City Jail.
