Chesterfield County ranked 13th among counties in Virginia by annual earnings per resident, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The median income of Chesterfield County residents was $39,276 per year, adjusted for inflation. It had 124,971 households with a population of 343,551.

The county with the highest median resident income in the state was Arlington County with $70,148 per year after adjusting for inflation – $30,872 more than Chesterfield County. It had 107,032 households with a population of 233,464.

The county with the lowest median resident income in the state was Buchanan County with $17,764 per year after adjusting for inflation – $21,512 less than Chesterfield County. It had 8,569 households with a population of 21,788.
