The Prince George County Police Department released its activity report for the period of March 16 to March 29, according to an April 20 announcement. The report includes incident and arrest information as well as weekly highlights from law enforcement activities in the county.
This update provides residents with insight into recent police operations and public safety trends in Prince George County. While the police department’s summary focuses on law enforcement matters, recent data also highlights developments within local schools.
Prince George County Public Schools District is the only school district in the county and enrolled a total of 6,181 students during the 2023-24 school year, according to the Virginia Department of Education’s website here. Among its seven schools, Prince George High School reported the highest enrollment with 1,818 students during that period according to state data.
Enrollment figures show that white students made up the largest ethnic group at Prince George County schools in the past year, totaling 2,765 students or about 44.7% of all enrollees. Black students were next largest group with approximately 1,880 students or just over thirty percent as reported by education authorities. Overall student enrollment increased by about one percent compared to last year’s numbers according to official records.
North Elementary School played a significant role at early grade levels: it had both the highest number of pre-kindergarten enrollments—46 children making up more than a quarter of all pre-K enrollments—and led kindergarten numbers with 119 children enrolled out of all kindergartners across county schools according to state reports.
The police department’s regular reporting aims to keep community members informed about safety issues while other local institutions such as public schools continue monitoring demographic and enrollment changes.
