The Prince George County Board of Supervisors announced on April 13 that residents unable to attend the April 14 meeting in person can participate electronically during the public comment and public hearing periods. The county provided a Microsoft Teams link for those wishing to speak, emphasizing that this option is specifically for active participation rather than viewing the proceedings.

This measure allows broader access for community members who cannot be physically present but want their voices heard during important local government discussions. The announcement highlights the ongoing efforts by Prince George County to ensure inclusivity and accessibility in civic engagement.

Residents are advised that the Microsoft Teams link is solely intended for submitting comments or participating in hearings, not as a means to watch the meeting. For those interested only in viewing, officials direct them to use the Live Streaming and Video Archive page on the county’s website.

Prince George County Public Schools District enrolled 6,181 students during the 2023-24 school year, according to the Virginia Department of Education. Of these students, Prince George High School had the highest enrollment among seven schools with 1,818 students. White students represented the largest ethnic group at 44.7% (2,765 students), followed by Black students at 30.4% (1,880 students), as reported by the same source.

Overall enrollment in Prince George County schools increased by 1.2% compared to last year’s total of 6,106 students according to state data. North Elementary School enrolled both the largest number of pre-kindergarten (46) and kindergarten (119) students among county schools during this period—accounting for over a quarter of each group respectively according to education records.

As remote participation becomes more common in local governance and educational updates reflect changing demographics and growth patterns within Prince George County schools, these developments signal ongoing adjustments aimed at serving community needs.
