Police investigate fatal motorcycle and pickup truck crash on Walton Lake Road

Prince George County Police said on April 16 that they are investigating a fatal crash involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck in the 10600 block of Walton Lake Road. The incident occurred at approximately 9:07 a.m.

The operator of the motorcycle, identified as Vincent Whitman, age 40, from Prince George, was pronounced dead at the scene. No injuries were reported to the driver of the pickup truck.

Authorities said that the Prince George Police Crash Investigation Team is currently examining the cause of the crash. At this time, no further details have been released. The police are asking anyone who witnessed the crash or has additional information to contact them at (804) 733-2773. Prince George County is served by one public school district which enrolled 6,181 students during the 2023-24 school year, according to the Virginia Department of Education. Among its seven schools, Prince George High School had the highest enrollment with 1,818 students for that period as reported by the same source.

Demographic data show that white students made up about 44.7% of total enrollment in county schools during this period—2,765 students—while Black students accounted for about 30.4%, totaling 1,880 pupils according to state education data. Total student enrollment increased by approximately 1.2% compared to last year’s figure of 6,106 as reported by official statistics.

In early childhood education within Prince George County schools for this academic year, North Elementary School enrolled both the largest number of pre-kindergarten students (46 children or about one quarter) and kindergarteners (119 children or roughly one quarter), based on figures from the Virginia Department of Education.
