Norfolk Southern plans to close several roads in Prince George County starting March 16 to carry out railroad crossing replacements, pending weather conditions. The closures will take place from Route 624 (Aldean Road) north to Route 629 (Rives Road), with work progressing sequentially.
Drivers are advised to use the marked detour routes during the closures. Each affected crossing is near its respective route’s intersection with U.S. 460. The anticipated schedule for closures is as follows: Route 624 (Aldean Road) around March 16, Route 625 (Arwood Road) around March 18, Route 618 (Robin Road) around March 23, and Route 629 (Rives Road) around March 25. This timetable may change depending on circumstances.
Anyone with questions or concerns about the scheduled work should contact William Morgan of Norfolk Southern Railroad at 434-594-8375.
