Glen Sturtevant, a Republican elected to the Virginia State Senate in 2024 representing the state’s 12th Senate district, used his social media platform in April 2026 to comment on legislative efforts and affordability issues affecting Virginians.

On April 12, Sturtevant criticized state leadership regarding recent tax legislation. He wrote, “We had legislation to eliminate the Car Tax and the Grocery Tax. The Governor was totally AWOL. She let the Dems kill those Affordability bills.”

The following day, on April 13, Sturtevant posted a religious statement: “Christ is King!”

Later that day, he addressed concerns about rising utility costs in central Virginia. He stated, “Virginia families are already feeling the squeeze. In January, the State Corporation Commission authorized an $11 a month increase in the average bill for most of us in central Virginia. With another hike looming in 2027, any bill in Richmond promising ‘affordability’ sounds like”

Sturtevant replaced Siobhan Dunnavant as senator for Virginia’s 12th district after his election in 2024.
