Glen Sturtevant, a Virginia state senator, has recently posted a series of statements on social media criticizing local and federal officials regarding school board conduct and government funding priorities.
On October 2, 2025, Sturtevant questioned the response of Albemarle authorities to actions by a school board member. He wrote: “Has a single person in authority in Albemarle spoken out against this school board member targeting these children? It would be good to know where the other members of the school board stand.”
The following day, Sturtevant commented on media coverage related to these issues. On October 3, 2025, he stated: “What an embarrassing headline for them to have to write. Take note. We’ll look back on this time and remember those who contributed to the abuse of children in the name of trans ideology.”
Later that same day, Sturtevant addressed federal funding concerns involving Virginia’s U.S. Senators and the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program. He posted: “Virginia’s U.S. Senators need to get off the soapbox and fund government so WIC doesn’t run out of money. They can fight to fund illegal aliens’ health care another time. This is not the time!”
The WIC program provides nutritional support for low-income women and young children across the United States through federal grants administered by state agencies.
Sturtevant’s comments come amid ongoing debates about education policy in Virginia schools as well as national discussions over government spending priorities.
