Glen Sturtevant, a Virginia state senator, shared several policy views on his social media account on November 19, 2025. His posts addressed issues ranging from local governance to labor laws and tax exemptions for residents.
In his first post, Sturtevant commented on the concept of sanctuary counties in Virginia. He wrote, “Sanctuary Counties, but for Virginia citizens not illegal aliens.” (November 19, 2025).
Later that day, he called for clear leadership regarding labor policy. In a tweet at 00:08 UTC, Sturtevant stated: “We need to hear from the incoming administration that repeal of Right-to-Work is DOA. I’ve heard promises were made on this issue. Let’s see the bipartisan leadership!” (November 19, 2025).
Addressing economic concerns faced by new homeowners and young families in Virginia, Sturtevant proposed tax relief measures in another post: “Let’s make Virginia first-time homebuyers exempt from property taxes. Give them five years to help keep down their monthly expenses while getting started. We should exempt them from the Car Tax too. That’s a way to help out young families and make some progress on the Car Tax.” (November 19, 2025).
Glen Sturtevant has previously served as a member of the Virginia State Senate and is known for advocating policies focused on local control and economic relief measures.
