Doré to Visit State’s 23 Community Colleges in His First 36 Days as Chancellor

Dr. David Doré will begin as the next Chancellor of the Virginia Community College System on April 3. As shared in earlier newsletters, a transition team was formed in January by State Board Chair Douglas Garcia to support the smooth transition of our next Chancellor. Since its creation the Transition Team has been busy planning for the arrival of our new Chancellor.

His first day as Chancellor will include a kickoff at Reynolds Community College where he will be welcomed by students and faculty, meetings at the system office, an interactive Zoom session with student leaders selected by each college president, and an afternoon address that will be livestreamed to all employees.

On his second day as Chancellor Doré officially begins his listening tour which includes a visit to each of Virginia’s 23 community colleges.
