Citizen Information: Dominion SMART Meters

Surry County Citizen Information: You may see a contractor from Dominion visiting your home or property in order to upgrade your original meter to an electronic meter. This will allow the meter to be read automatically as well as report any power outages that may occur eliminating the need to call or report the outage online. The process is relatively quick, and your power will go out between 10-15 seconds.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Dominion at 866–566–6436 from 8AM to 5PM Monday through Friday.

You can learn more about Dominion’s SMART Meters and frequently asked questions here: Smart Meter FAQs | Dominion Energy
