Chesterfield Planning Commission meeting set for April 21 with public comment options

The Chesterfield Planning Commission will hold its regular meeting on April 21 at 6 p.m. in the Public Meeting Room at 10001 Iron Bridge Road, according to an announcement released on April 15.

The commission is encouraging citizens to provide comments on zoning cases and other matters through an online form available at www.chesterfield.gov/cpccomments. Comments can also be submitted by email or phone, with all feedback due by 5 p.m. on April 20 to ensure consideration before the meeting.

For those wishing to attend in person, seating may be limited. Participants can sign up in advance or upon arrival to speak during public hearings. The agenda, staff reports, and presentations for the meeting are available at www.chesterfield.gov/plan.

The meeting will also be broadcast on WCCT Chesterfield Community Television (Comcast channel 98 and Verizon channel 28) and livestreamed on YouTube.com/ChesterfieldCountyVA.

Demographically, white students made up the largest ethnic group in Chesterfield County schools during this period—27,369 students or about 43% of total enrollment—followed by Black students who accounted for approximately one-quarter of enrollment.

The county saw a slight increase in student numbers compared to previous years: enrollment rose by nearly one percent from last year’s total. For early learners specifically,Chester Early Childhood Learning Academy enrolled most pre-kindergarten students, whileOld Hundred Elementary School led among kindergartens with their respective enrollments making up significant portions of their grade levels countywide.
